BauerSoftware and SOFTTECH Merge to Form BAUER SOFTTECH GmbH

Two companies within the Orca Group are combining their expertise in planning, bidding, and cost control. For customers, products, contracts, and points of contact will remain unchanged.
Neubeuern, October 6, 2026 – BauerSoftware GmbH and SOFTTECH GmbH have merged
to form BAUER SOFTTECH GmbH. Both companies are part of the Orca
Group and have been developing software for architecture and engineering firms
as well as the public sector for 40 years. With this merger, the group is bringing together two
companies that have been serving mutual clients for years and collaborating on support
and projects. The new company employs approximately 50
people at its locations in Neustadt an der Weinstraße and Heppenheim.
Complementary expertise throughout the planning and construction process
SOFTTECH was founded in 1985, and BauerSoftware in 1986. Both specialize in
bidding, contract awarding, and billing, but complement each other in
related disciplines: SOFTTECH contributes planning, CAD, and graphical
quantity takeoff, while BauerSoftware provides cost management, HOAI processing, and
office organization. BAUER SOFTTECH thus covers the entire process from design through
bidding to cost control—areas that, in practice, have long been integral parts of
design firms.
“For over four decades, BauerSoftware and SOFTTECH have been providing digital
tools for successful construction projects. As a joint venture,
we are driving the development of web applications and artificial intelligence throughout the
construction planning process. Our customers have a bright future ahead of them,” concludes
Christoph Heimlich, Managing Director of BAUER SOFTTECH GmbH.
Artificial Intelligence Is Already in Use
The combined development capacity is channeled into consulting, support, and
further development. The
existing products demonstrate what this further development looks like: In the BUILDUP project software, artificial
intelligence assists in creating specifications, analyzing BIM
models, and verifying HOAI fees. In the web-based quantity takeoff
software GRAVA connect, it handles plan analysis as well as the evaluation
and plausibility checking of quantities. This expertise will be available to the entire
company in the future.
Continuity and Reliability for Our Customer Base
Licenses, maintenance contracts, and terms of service remain unchanged; for customers at
, no signatures or new contracts are required. All products at
will continue to be maintained, further developed, and distributed, and the contacts at
for sales, consulting, and support will remain the same. The brands
BauerSoftware and SOFTTECH will also remain on the market, as will the
product brands AVANTI, GRAVA, SPIRIT, and BUILDUP. What has changed is the
legal company name: effective immediately, invoices will be issued by BAUER SOFTTECH GmbH.
A step within the Orca Group
Both companies were already part of the Orca Group prior to the merger. It
is not a takeover, but rather the merger of two
sister companies.
“Within the group, BAUER SOFTTECH is a strong company with a clear profile:
two established brands, one team, and a shared commitment to technical expertise and
reliability. For our customers, this means stability,” says Clemens
Weidenbach, CEO of the Orca Group, explaining the merger.
